Welcome to the home of BrumBats, the Birmingham and Black Country Bat Group. The site is packed with info on how and where to watch bats locally, how to get involved with the group, and how to learn more about bats. You can also find us now on Facebook, and Twitter and look at our photos on Flickr! If you need information, or have any problems using the website, please email us.

The 2011 bat season is now over, as our furry friends are concentrating on feeding up and finding a good place to hibernate. But just because the bats are hibernating, that doesn't mean the BrumBats are too - Winter is the time of year when we run our training courses and indoor talks & events. We've got lots planned for winter 2011-2012, so check out the calendar page to find out more!

Looking for bat records? From 04/07/2011 The Birmingham and Black Country Bat Group have fully joined forces with EcoRecord, Biological Record Centre for Birmingham and the Black Country, to improve our service, so now all searches of the bat group’s records and those held by EcoRecord will be done by the EcoRecord team. Please contact EcoRecord directly for any desk study or other bat record search needs you may have.

The Birmingham and Black Country Bat Group wish to thank all those consultancies and others, with whom we have worked in the past on record searches, for their support and assure you that the bat group is not loosing out by this new process. We will be updating EcoRecord with our data so they can support you, and EcoRecord are a corporate member of the bat group. This partnership will enable us to continue to work to collect records and carry out other bat work. If your organisation would like to know more about corporate bat group membership please contact our membership officer . Thank you.
